A heavily camouflaged test mule of the next-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire has recently been spotted testing near the company's R&D center in Rohtak. The car is expected to be launched in India later this year, ahead of the introduction of its hatchback sibling - the new-gen Swift.

The spotted model has been heavily disguised under thick camouflage, though some design elements are visible from beneath the covers. The car's headlamps are similar to the ones seen on the new-gen Swift, while the bonnet shut lines too are identical to that of the hatchback. The front bumper appears to house a larger air-dam compared to the one found on the current model.

At first glance, the rear end might look similar to that of the present-gen Dzire, though closer inspection reveals slightly thinner C-pillars and a wider rear windscreen. Additionally, the boot lid is a new unit that gets a sharp kink above the taillights, something that is missing on the current model.

Maruti is expected to equip the new-gen Dzire with the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol and 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engines found in the current model. However, the company might retune these engines for improving power delivery and efficiency.
