Rumour: Tata Hexa to launch in India on January 16, 2017

If recent media reports are to be believed, Tata Motors will be launching the Hexa SUV on January 16th, 2017. However, no official launch date has been revealed as of now. The automaker has already started accepting bookings for the Hexa at a token amount of Rs. 11,000.

With the Hexa's launch, Tata Motors' portfolio will get a new flagship product. The company is planning to rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV5OO and the Toyota Innova with this latest offering.

The Hexa will be powered by a 2.2-litre VARICOR400 diesel engine that develops 154 BHP and 400 Nm of torque, while being mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Both 4x4 and 4x2 drive setups will be on offer. The manual variants will also get multi-drive modes: Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road.
