Rumour: Kia Sonet variants revealed; bookings open

Variants of the Kia Sonet sub-4m SUV have been revealed. Just like the Seltos, it will come in GT Line as well as Tech Line trims.

The GT Line will come with a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired to an iMT gearbox or a DCT. The Sonet GT Line will get red accents on the exterior and all-black interiors. It will come equipped with LED headlights, 6 airbags, UVO Connect app, wireless charger, 10.25-inch touchscreen head unit, sunroof, and 16-inch alloy wheels. It will come in three variants - GTK, GTX and GTX+.

The Sonet Tech Line will come with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine as well as a 1.5-litre diesel engine and will come in four variants - HTE, HTK, HTX and HTX+. It will get black interiors with beige accents. It is said that the upholstery and most of the plastics will be black.

Kia dealers have reportedly started accepting bookings unofficially and the booking amount is set at Rs. 25,000. Test drive cars are expected to arrive in the second half of August.

The Kia Sonet shares its platform with the Hyundai Venue and will make its global debut on August 7, 2020. It could be launched in the Indian market sometime in September 2020. Last week, Kia had released digital renderings of the Sonet's exterior and interior.
