Rumour: BMW X7, new 3-Series, 8-Series & Z4 bookings open

According to a media report, BMW dealerships have started accepting bookings for the new 3-Series, 8-Series, X7 and Z4.

BMW X7 luxury SUV was unveiled at the India Art Fair in New Delhi on January 31, 2019. It is expected to be launched later this year. The SUV is likely to be offered in three variants - xDrive40i, xDrive30d and a top-spec M50d. The X7 will be assembled at BMW's Chennai plant will compete with the Mercedes-Benz GLS.

The seventh generation 3-Series was spotted in India late last year. It could be offered with a choice of 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. The car is expected to go on sale by mid-2019.

Reports suggest that BMW may not bring the standard 8-Series to India. Instead, the car maker is expected to offer its high-performance version - the M8 in coupe and convertible body styles. It will be powered by a 4.4-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The M8 is expected to make its global debut at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show.

BMW has also lined up the third generation Z4 for India. The convertible has already been spotted testing in India and is expected to be launched sometime this year. In India, the new Z4 is expected to be offered with 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder and 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine options.
