Germany's Nico Rosberg has won the Mexican Formula One Grand Prix ahead of his Mercedes team mate, Lewis Hamilton. The win sees Rosberg overtake Ferrari diver Sebastian Vettel in the 2015 World Drivers' Championship (WDC). He is now placed second and Vettel in third.

Rosberg, who qualified in pole position led the race from the start and drove without making any major error. Hamilton, who has already won the WDC, led the race for a short period, when Rosberg pitted for the second time. The lead went back to Rosberg when Hamilton had to bring his car into the pits for a fresh set of tyres.

Williams driver Valtteri Bottas, finished the race in third position with Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat in fourth, Daniel Ricciardo in fifth and Brazilian driver Filipe Massa in sixth. Bottas is now in third position in the WDC with Kvyat and Ricciardo in seventh and eighth respectively.

Sebastian Vettel, who is racing for third position in the WDC had a collision with Ricciardio. The collision resulted in a punctured tyre, which forced him to come into the pits for a change. Later in the race, he lost control of the car and ended up in the barriers.

Ferrari team mate Kimi Raikkonen had to retire from the race as well after his car collided with the Williams of Bottas on lap 23. Raikkonen has now dropped to fifth position in the WDC. Filipe Massa, the other Williams driver is just seven points behind him.

In the fight for second place in the 2015 World Constructors' Championship (WCC), Williams is now only 21 points behind Ferrari. Mercedes has already won the WCC.
