2025 MG Astor unveiled globally with hybrid powertrain

The new Astor will take on rivals like the Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

MG has taken the wraps off its all-new ZS Hybrid+, or the Astor, as it is called in the Indian market.

The new MG ZS now comes with a more sportier design than the outgoing model, which is in line with the brand's global design philosophy. This includes a new wider black mesh front grille, sleek LED headlamps on either side, a new front bumper, revised wheel arches with newly-designed alloy wheels, a reworked rear bumper, new LED tail lights and an overall more upright stance.

Inside, the new MG Astor gets a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a new 7-inch digital instrument cluster and an updated cabin with a bunch of new features and tech. It includes a vertical wireless charging pad, keyless entry and automatic headlamps, 360-degree camera, 6-way electrically-adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, rear privacy glass, leather upholstery, heated front seats and steering wheel, and many more. MG has also restyled the gear lever and the two cupholders on the centre console. The new Astor also comes with Level 2 ADAS safety suite with features like active emergency braking, lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control; among others.

The 2025 MG Astor (ZS in the international market) comes powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine, which, on its own, produces 101 BHP and 250 Nm. However, it is paired with a 100 kW electric motor and a 1.83 kWh battery pack, which takes the combined output of the powertrain to 192 BHP and 343 Nm.

The 2025 MG Astor (ZS Hybrid) is one of eight models from the brand that will come to the Indian market. Once launched, the new Astor will take on rivals like the Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

Prices for the new MG Astor (ZS) in the UK start from GBP 21,995 (approx. Rs 24.4 lakh).
