Renault confirms sedan & crossover on Kwid's platform

The Renault-Nissan Alliance will use the CMF-A platform to underpin more cars with different body styles. At the 2016 New York International Auto Show, Carlos Ghosn, the company's chairman, confirmed that the company will build a crossover and a sedan on this platform. A low-cost electric car could be developed as well.

The CMF-A platform is used by Renault-Nissan to underpin the Kwid. The car has been the most successful product for the company in India registering over 1 lakh bookings since September 2015. The upcoming hatchback from Datsun (Redi-Go), is also based on this platform. The car is scheduled to be unveiled on April 14, 2016.

Cars developed on the CMF-A platform will be sold in India and other emerging markets.
