Range Rover SV Coupe debuts at Geneva

Land Rover showcased the Range Rover SV Coupe - a limited edition 2-door SUV at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. It has been designed by Land Rover Design and hand-assembled by its Special Vehicle Operations (SVO). Only 999 examples of the SV Coupe will be built. The SV Coupe is priced at GBP 2,40,000 and will go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2018.

The new SV Coupe measures 5,013 mm in overall length, 2,220 mm in width and 1,794 mm in height. It has a ground clearance of 263 mm and a water wading capacity of 900 mm. The vehicle has a towing capacity of 3,500 kg.

The Range Rover SV Coupe gets a redesigned front end with a silver grille surround flanked by Range Rover's signature LED headlights with Laser high beam and a new front bumper with silver inserts. The A, B and C-pillars have been blacked-out to create the illusion of a floating roof. The roof is slightly raked like on the standard Range Rover and features a panoramic sunroof. The car has a bold shoulder line and vertical vents behind the front fenders. The pillar less doors have power-close function. The rear features the familiar twin-pod tail lights, raked windshield and a new rear bumper. The SV Coupe is the first Range Rover to be offered with 23-inch wheels.

On the inside, the SV Coupe gets a dual-tone interior with semi-aniline leather front seats with quilted design. Customers can choose from four front-to-rear contrast interior themes or single-tone options. Besides, a choice of three wood veneer options is also available, along with Nautica veneer - a combination of walnut and sycamore. The dashboard layout is similar to the standard Range Rover featuring two 10-inch touchscreens, a 12-inch digital driver instrument cluster and a 10-inch colour HUD. The car comes with a 1700 watt, 23-speaker Meridian sound system.

SVO will offer more than 100 colour options on the SV Coupe in addition to custom colours. A liquid metal finish called Liquesence is offered for the first time on a Range Rover. Other exterior colour options include single and dual-tone shades.

Interior customization options include dual-tone front and rear leather with quilt pattern, contrast stitching, headrest embroidery, door handle and tread plate engraving and badges made out of semi-precious metals. Owners can choose from a chose of four single and four dual-tone interior schemes.

The Range Rover SV Coupe is powered by a 5.0-litre, supercharged V8 petrol engine that produces 558 BHP and 700 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive via a 2-speed transfer box. It comes equipped with Terrain Response 2 featuring modes like Dynamic, Eco, Comfort, Grass Gravel Snow, Mud and Ruts, Sand and Rock Crawl. It also has adjustable air-suspension. Land Rover claims that the SV Coupe will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 266 km/h.
