Mahindra Scorpio facelift to get 138 BHP 2.2L diesel engine

Mahindra is expected to launch the Scorpio facelift soon. Recent spy images have suggested that the SUV will get minor design tweaks and it will get a re-tuned 2.2-litre diesel engine.

Earlier, there had been reports suggesting the Scorpio facelift getting a revised state of tune. Now, an ARAI document has confirmed that the 2,179cc, 4-cylinder mHawk diesel engine has been tuned to produce 138 BHP @ 3,750 rpm. In its current state of tune, the engine produces 120 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 280 Nm of torque @ 1,800-2,800 rpm. Revised torque figures are not available at this moment.

The document indicates that the refreshed Scorpio will be available in at least 7 variants including a new S7 trim with an 8-seat configuration and 2-wheel drive. That said, dimensions of the vehicle will remain unchanged.
