Mahindra to increase TUV300 production to meet demand

The Mahindra TUV300 has been selling in good numbers since its launch in September 2015. Mahindra is reported to have garnered more than 15,500 bookings for the vehicle. 40-45% of these bookings are for the AMT variant. Some variants of the TUV command a waiting period of 4-6 weeks.

In order to bring the waiting period down, Mahindra is ramping up production of the TUV300 in the coming months to meet the strong demand. At the start, the company was producing 4,000 units of the SUV every month. Till February 2016, it is planning to increase the production to 5,500-6,000 units.

The TUV300 is powered by a 1,493cc, 3-cylinder mHawk80 diesel engine with a 2-stage turbocharger. It produces 84 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 230 Nm of torque @ 1,500-2,250 rpm. It is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed automated manual transmission.

The TUV300 is priced between Rs. 6.98 lakh and Rs. 9.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
