Lexus to launch its first plug-in hybrid & EV by 2022

Lexus achieved a new milestone of 20 lakh electrified vehicle sales at the end of April 2021.

Lexus has announced that it will launch plug-in hybrid vehicles in 2021 and its first all-electric model in 2022.

By 2025, Lexus plans to introduce 20 new or improved models, including more than 10 battery electric vehicles (BEV), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV).

Lexus' upcoming electrified models will feature DIRECT4 technology and steer-by-wire systems. DIRECT4 is a four-wheel-drive torque distribution technology that combines drive force control with steer-by-wire systems. It is claimed to improve vehicle dynamics.

Lexus achieved a new milestone of 20 lakh electrified vehicle sales at the end of April 2021. The carmaker aims to achieve carbon neutrality throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle by 2050.

In India, Lexus offers the LC500h, LS 500h, RX 450hL, NX 300h and ES 300h.
