Land Rover announces massive price cuts across portfolio

Land Rover India has announced significant price cuts on its range of SUVs being sold in India. This price revision comes in the wake of the drop in value of Pound, post Britain's exit from the European Union.

Models that are being assembled locally have received relatively lower price cuts. These include the Land Rover Discovery Sport, which now starts at Rs. 43.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), after having a price cut of around Rs. 4 lakh. Land Rover had recently introduced a new 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine with the Discovery Sport. Similarly, the Range Rover Evoque has been given a cut of around Rs. 3 lakh, as its prices now start at Rs. 45.85 lakh.

The price reduction is a lot more significant for models that are being imported from Land Rover's manufacturing facilities in the United Kingdom (UK). As a result, the Range Rover Sport has received a price cut of around Rs. 30 lakh throughout the variant line-up, as it now starts at Rs. 86.8 lakh. Meanwhile, the highest price reduction has been made to the company's flagship luxury SUV, as prices of the Range Rover Vogue have been reduced by around Rs. 50 lakh.

The said price cut is expected to boost sales of Land Rover SUVs in India as the automaker's cars are now priced in direct competition to its immediate rivals from Porsche, Audi, BMW and Mercedes.
