Kia Seltos EV to debut in H2-2020

According to a leaked document, Kia is planning to debut the Seltos EV in the second half of 2020. It is expected to be launched in China as the next generation KX3 EV.

Rumours suggest that the next generation Seltos EV could be offered in standard and long-range variants. Details of the electric motor and battery pack are not yet known.

At present, the KX3 EV is offered with a 45.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that offers a claimed range of 300 km. The output of the electric motor is rated at 109 BHP and 285 Nm. The car has a claimed top speed of 150 km/h and consumes 16.4 kWh / 100 km of energy.

Reports suggest that the next generation Seltos EV could go into production in August 2020. The carmaker is said to have plans to build 10,000 units per year.

At the moment, Kia has no plans to launch the Seltos EV in India. However, if launched, it could compete with the Hyundai Kona Electric in the Indian market.
