Indian Jestin Augustine wins Ferrari Technician Challenge

Jestin Augustine has finished in first place in the Ferrari Technician Challenge 2015 and become the first Indian to win the competition. He is also the first Ferrari after-sales specialist from the Middle-East region to win the challenge.

The Ferrari Technician Challenge was held at Ferrari's factory in Maranello over three days. 50 participants from all over the world participated in it. Jestin Augustine, who works as a technical advisor at Al Tayer Motors, Dubai, participated in the competition for the first time.

Ten finalists were shortlisted and the eventual winner was decided based on the result of a series of training sessions, assessments and practical challenges, including driving an F12 Berlinetta and a 488 GTB on a racing circuit. While Augustine took first place in the challenge, a technician from Switzerland finished second, with third place going to a competitor from Spain.

Jestin Augustine hails from Viyyoor in the Thrissur district of Kerala. He has been with Al Tayer Motors since 2006. Some of India's better known Ferrari customers have consulted him.
