Honda partners with GM to develop EVs

Honda has partnered with General Motors (GM) to develop two electric vehicles (EVs).

The new cars will be based on GM's flexible global EV platform powered by Ultium batteries. However, the platform will be engineered to support Honda's driving character. The exterior and interiors will be designed by Honda.

The new Honda EVs will be manufactured at GM plants in North America. The cars are expected to go on sale in the US and Canadian markets in 2024.

GM and Honda are also working on fuel cells and an electric, self-driving and shared vehicle called Cruise Origin. The car was unveiled in San Francisco earlier this year.
