DIY: Updated my Maruti Suzuki Jimny Alpha infotainment software

People with connectivity issues both on Apple and Android should try and update. In our opinion it should help.

BHPian ShivC recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Updated the Infotainment Software of Jimny Alpha from version 80TA.03.00 to version 80TA.07.00.

Steps to do this and stages :

Click on software download in the following page:

On clicking software update it will take you to the following. Select Model Code as 80TA. It will give the Present Software Version - 80TA.03.00, and the available software version - 80TA.07.00. Click on download page :

This is the page it takes you to on clicking the above. Click on Download to download the the file. This also details of the change version - 80TA.07.00 : Performance Improvement.

Unzip this folder called: Update_File_80TA_07_00(1).zip which will Extract a file called : Update.pkg. Copy this Update.pkg file to a pen drive (preferably 8GB and above ) with no files on it except this. The preferred formatting as always is FAT 32

The minute the USB is plugged in with Update.pkg file on it this is what will be seen on the screen. Press Yes for software update :

It will show downloading in progress. Then it will go it verification - boot automatically and finish in about 10 - 12 mins total.

This is the screen after verification complete:

Software updating - took about 4 minutes:

Boot up logo after updation:

After it completes the update it would display the new version which is 80TA.07.00:

I had intermittent issues with Apple Car Play not connecting sometimes. Its is definitely a faster and snappier connection now after updating.

People with connectivity issues both on Apple and Android should try and update. In our opinion it should help.

This is for an Alpha - the same process works for Zeta as well as long as the model code is known - and can be checked from the current software version as well - this will be the first 4 digits of the current software version.
