Constant issues on my XUV700 over the past 2 years; Here's the latest!

The constant visits to the service centre are becoming a bit of a headache.

BHPian wadewilson recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Hey folks, just wanted to journal the recent issue I've faced with my 2-year-old XUV700 AX7L AWD (44,000+ kms). My car was among the first batches produced by M&M, and while I expected there to be some niggles in the first batch (it being a Mahindra and all), the constant service centre visits have become a headache with me having to miss going to office because of the issues. The current issue I'm facing is:

  • The tailgate refuses to lock because the mechanism is somehow bent - idk how it got bent since it literally has no contact with anything in the boot.

Will be going to the service centre tomorrow to get it fixed or the lock replaced but I have to say this one thing - Mahindra really needs to look into its Quality Control while I love the brand and its customer-centric approach, I would also love it if the parts were reliable and didn't fail ever so often. Till now, that is, two years and 44,000+kms later, issues and niggles I've faced:

Mechanical Issues

  1. O-Ring Pipe burst while driving on highway leading to overheating of engine. Mahindra later issued a recall for the same.
  2. Control Arm issue from day 1 - ultimately leading Mahindra to recall and replace the LCAs.
  3. Front Passenger Side Power Window Motor Failure within One Year - Replaced Under Warranty but it is surprising how quickly parts failed.
  4. The rearmost seat latch mechanism failed within 1.5 years leaving me unable to close the rearmost seat. Had to visit the service centre (120kms away - up and down) just to fix this.

Software Issues

  1. BSOD (Black Screen of Death) Issue - Still unresolved to this day, 2 years after launch.
  2. AdrenoX app is still unreliable - despite paying for the subscription, Mahindra still can't make it work properly. If I try to use the app functions to unlock the car, the app keeps on loading forever, making it faster to run down the stairs from my 1st-floor room and then open the car using the key.

Anyway, I will be taking leave again from work and have to go to the service centre (120kms away) to repair the boot door tomorrow (if parts are available). While the ASC is quite good and the Service Manager is also very helpful and sorts out my issues on a priority basis, there is a lack of parts since the ASC is small. Fingers crossed that they will have the part in stock if they need to replace the mechanism. I did check on Boodmoo and the part number is: 0114DW601231N, if anyone else also needs the same.
