BPCL to set up EV charging points at 7,000 petrol pumps

HPCL also plans to commission 5,000 EV charging stations over the next 3 years.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) plans to set up EV charging stations at around 7,000 petrol pumps over the next few years.

BPCL has a network of more than 19,000 retail outlets in India. The EV charging infrastructure will provide the company with a new business opportunity, at a time when electric cars are slowly gaining popularity. It is said that companies with a strong distribution network stand to benefit from this shift to EVs.

Besides EV charging infrastructure, BPCL is also working on segments like Petchem, Gas, Consumer retailing, Renewables and biofuels.

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) also plans to commission 5,000 EV charging stations over the next 3 years. It currently operates 84 EV charging points across India.
