BMW Motorrad starts production of G310R in India

Production of the BMW G310R has commenced at TVS Motor's plant in India. The G310R is the first product coming from the Indo-German alliance of BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor Company. Under this joint venture, the G310R will be locally manufactured at the TVS production facility in Hosur, near Bengaluru.

The G310R is the smallest capacity motorcycle ever produced under the BMW Motorrad name. It will be made in India and exported to markets like Europe, Australia, and other Asian countries.

The G310R will be powered by a 313 cc, liquid-cooled engine that develops 34 BHP @ 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque @ 7,500 rpm, and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The braking setup will consist of a 300 mm disc brake at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear, while dual-channel ABS will be available.

BMW Motorrad is expected to launch the G310R in India in October this year. In the Indian market, this bike will compete with the KTM Duke 390 and Mahindra Mojo.
