BharatBenz Glider 12-meter coach launched

Autobahn Trucking and MG Coaches have launched a luxury coach called the Glider. It is based on the BharatBenz OF1623 chassis.

The BharatBenz Glider is a 12-meter single-axle bus with a front-engine layout. The bus body is built by MG Coaches and features a low front scuttle with 3-pod headlamp clusters and an integrated dual-tone front bumper with fog lamps. The interiors feature a wraparound dashboard with a twin-dial instrument cluster and an MID as well as a 4-spoke steering wheel. It has a 2+2 seating arrangement for the passengers.

The BharatBenz OF1623 chassis features alligator type cross members and has air-suspension at all four corners. It measures 11,765 mm in overall length and has a wheelbase of 5,950 mm. 

The bus is powered by a 6.4-litre, 6-cylinder diesel engine that produces 235 BHP @ 2,200 rpm and 850 Nm of peak torque @ 1,200-1,600 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The braking system comprises of an engine brake and exhaust brake. A retarder is available as an option.
