Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS spied at Pune dealership ahead of launch

The upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS has been spotted at a dealership in Pune suggesting that the launch of the motorcycle could be just around the corner - probably as early as the end of this month.

The Pulsar 200 SS is a fully faired version of the Pulsar 200 NS. It has features such as twin projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, an underbelly exhaust and a saree guard, which is mandatory on bikes sold in India.

It is powered by the same engine as the 200 NS - 199.5 cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, single cylinder that puts out 23.52 PS @ 9500 rpm and 18.3 Nm of torque @ 8000 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. However, the SS could use fuel injection instead of a carburettor. Suspension duties are taken care of by a telescopic fork at the front and monoshock at the rear.

In our previous report, images of the export version of the bike revealed that it could have an ABS unit. Media reports suggest that for India, Bajaj will launch two variants of the bike - ABS and non-ABS.

The Pulsar 200 SS will be a rival for the KTM RC 200 and Yamaha YZF R15.
