Yamaha Fazer FI spotted without camouflage

When Yamaha Motor India launched the FZ FI and FZ-S motorcycles with fuel-injection last week, it was expected that the company would extend the technology to the Fazer as well. Sure enough, an updated version of the Fazer has been spotted being ridden on the roads without any camouflage.

Pictures indicate that the updated Fazer gets a revised fairing with restyled twin headlamps. The fairing gels well with the other body parts of the bike, which seem to be borrowed from the FZ Version 2.0.

The Fazer Version 2.0 is likely to use the same engine as the FZ FI and FZ-S Version 2.0, which is a 149 cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected unit with Yamaha's Blue Core technology. It develops 13.PS @ 8000 rpm and 12.8 Nm of torque @ 6000 rpm and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Yamaha has said that it will sell the old FZ 16 and FZ-S alongside the fuel-injected models. We expect the same treatment to be given to the Fazer as well.

It should not be long before Yamaha launches the Fazer Version 2.0.
