Yamaha Aerox S with keyless ignition launched at Rs 1.51 lakh

The Smart Key can also be used to locate the scooter in a crowded environment.

Yamaha has launched a new variant of the Aerox 155 called the ‘S’. The Aerox S is priced at Rs 1,50,600 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The main highlight of the Aerox S is its keyless ignition feature. The maxi-scooter comes with a Smart Key, which has 'answer-back capability assists' that help to locate the scooter in a crowded environment. Riders can activate the blinkers and a buzzer using the key.

The Smart Key tech allows riders to start the scooter without inserting the key. It has a proximity sensor, which detects the key, and the rider can simply rotate a knob to the ignition position and push the start button.

The Aerox S is powered by the same 155cc, single-cylinder engine as the standard variant. It produces 15 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 13.9 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The scooter also gets a traction control system.
