VW T-Cross compact SUV concept teased ahead of Geneva debut

VW has released teaser images of what is being called the T-Cross concept. The concept previews a Polo-based compact SUV and will make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The T-Cross concept is a smaller counterpart of the T-Roc (Golf-based) SUV and both models mark VW's SUV / crossover offensive.

This SUV is based on VW's MQB architecture and is likely to be offered with a range of petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains. Expected to hit the market in 2018, the SUV will come with front wheel drive as standard, with AWD variants available as well.

The teaser image reveals little about the design, but the concept sports sleek LED headlights + DRLs, square shaped DRLs around the fog light enclosures, and a honeycomb shaped air dam and front grille.

Reports suggest that the concept will measure around 4 metres, but a sub-4 metre version for the Indian market could be considered, much like the VW Ameo and Ford Figo Aspire which are India-specific models.
