Volvo S90 interior spied

Volvo has been testing the successor to the S80 sedan extensively, with test mule snapshots always showing the car draped in a heavy camouflage. A clear look at the exterior design may elude us for now, but courtesy the shutterbugs at worldcarfans, we now have a clear look at the S90’s dashboard.

Looking at the spy images, the first word that comes to mind is minimalist. Like the XC90, the sedan makes the use of a very clean layout, with the number of buttons kept as low as possible.

The car gets a large touch screen display in the centre console cased in a chrome surround, with long and slim AC vents on either side. Also seen is the familiar knurled finish knob for starting / switching off the engine, a drive mode selector scroll, an electronic parking brake and a small gear selector lever with silver inserts for a premium touch. Like the XC90, the S90 will also get an LCD display with analogue readouts in the instrument cluster.

Volvo will target major markets like the USA and China with the S90, and India can expect a launch as well, possibly in the second half of 2016. While we have a look at the interior, the closest look at the exterior design has been through a scale model. Whether or not the scale model reflects the final look, remains to be seen.
