Volkswagen T-Roc sold out; bookings closed

Bookings for the VW T-Roc are now closed.

Volkswagen has announced that the T-Roc has been sold out in India. The carmaker is no longer accepting fresh bookings for the car.

The T-Roc was launched in March 2020. The car is imported as a completely built unit (CBU) under the new rule which allows carmakers to import 2,500 units without the need for homologation. Initially, Volkswagen had imported 1,000 units.

The T-Roc is based on the MQB platform and is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 148 BHP @ 5,000-6,000 rpm and 250 Nm @ 1,500-3,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Next year, VW is planning to launch the Taigun in India. The crossover will be based on the MQB A0 IN platform and will be positioned below the T-Roc.
