Uber makes its safety tools more accessible & customisable

The new Safety Preference Section though, is currently available only in the USA, Canada & Latin America.

Ridesharing platform, Uber, has launched a new 'Safety Preference Section' that gathers all the safety tools in one place, allowing users to activate them whenever required.

The safety tools are also customisable and come with a bunch of features. This includes audio recording, which Uber can use to investigate incidents, PIN verification to ensure users are entering the right vehicle and ShareMyTrip and RideCheck. The ShareMyTrip allows users to share their live location and ride details with trusted people, while the RideCheck feature notifies Uber when a ride either stops suddenly or goes off-course.

Users can either activate all the features by default - making it available for every trip or customise it based on time & location. Users can click on the in-app 'Safety Checkup' section and then customise the tools under the safety preferences mentioned.

The new Safety Preference Section though, is currently available only in the USA, Canada & Latin America. However, Uber will reportedly expand the feature to other regions in the near future.
