Toyota opens driving school in Faridabad

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced the opening of its driving school in Faridabad, which will be managed by the company's local dealership - Thirty Six Toyota. This is the sixth Toyota Driving School to be opened in the country and the first such establishment in the National Capital Region (NCR). In addition to the new NCR outlet, Toyota Driving School also operates in five other locations - Kochi, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata.

These driving schools in India are a part of Toyota's mission of 'Safest Car, Safest Driver'. Under this mission, the Japanese automaker is trying to provide driver training to its students through a structured curriculum. This driver training program covers topics like traffic management, rules, discipline, safe and right driving concepts, manners and responsibilities of driver, simulator session, practical driving experience and basics about the car's maintenance and repairs. At the end of the program, the driving school evaluates each student's performance and provides the required feedback to further enhance their driving style.

Toyota claims that the simulator is an important part of the driving school's curriculum as it provides the students an option to get a feel of the car, before taking an actual vehicle on the road. Using this simulator, students can practice all car controls like steering, accelerator, brake and gear shift. The simulation system has been programmed to create various road and weather conditions like fog, dim light, uphill and downhill terrain. This provides a diverse range of driving conditions for the students to test their skills. In order to give a real feel, Toyota has used the components of an actual Etios car to construct the simulator.
