Tesla CEO Elon Musk to visit India later this year

Elon Musk is also looking to roll out his satcom venture, Starlink, in India.

American EV maker Tesla is gearing up to foray into the Indian market. Homologation testing of some cars is already underway, including the new Model Y, which was recently spotted on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

Meanwhile, Tesla CEO Elon Musk had a conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over telephone. He later announced his India visit, which is expected to happen by the end of this year.

Musk posted on X, saying, "It was an honour to speak with PM Modi. I am looking forward to visiting India later this year!"

"Spoke to Elon Musk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year," the Prime Minister posted on X. "We discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation. India remains committed to advancing our partnership with the US in these domains."

Elon Musk is also looking to roll out his satcom venture, Starlink, in India. It is in the final phase of the government approval process.
