Tata posts a tribute video for the Safari

View Forum Discussion

The Safari was discontinued in 2019 as the engine was not upgraded to BS6 emission norms.

Tata has posted a tribute video for the Safari SUV. The title of the video is "Safari - We Miss You".

Tata says that it is the SUV that changed the game and lets you make your own road. Various generations of the Safari have been used in the video, but the Storme makes the maximum appearance. The video includes catchy phrases and pictures of the SUV off-roading, along with an image of a group of Safaris with their owners on top of Khardung La pass, the world's highest motorable road.

Production of the Safari Storme was stopped in 2019, prior to the introduction of the BS6 emission norms. It was powered by a 2.2L Varicor diesel engine which was not updated to meet the new emission norms.

It is unclear if this is just a tribute video or if Tata Motors is hinting at a future product with a Safari nameplate.
