Tata Nexon facelift to get haptic air-con controls; patent leaked

The Nexon facelift will be based on the Curvv concept, featuring its next-generation cabin design.

The Tata Nexon is all set to receive a major update, and the changes won't be just cosmetic. The latest patent drawings suggest that the crossover will get an all-new HVAC module.

The image reveals two toggle switches for the fan speed and temperature sandwiched between two rows of haptic buttons. The top has controls for the fog lamps, hazard lights, tailgate release, central locking, Sport and Eco modes and a button to activate the 360-degree camera. The lower row is reserved for the climate control functions.

The Nexon facelift will also get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. Spy images have revealed a new 2-spoke steering wheel as well.

On the outside, the updated Nexon is expected to feature a new front fascia with an LED light bar along with a redesigned bumper and headlamps. The rear of the car will also receive a makeover with Safari-style tail lamps.

Under the bonnet, the Nexon facelift is rumoured to get Tata's new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 122 BHP and 225 Nm. The 1.5-litre diesel engine is likely to be carried over as well.
