Tata Motors launches Ultra range of trucks

Tata Motors has launched the Ultra range of trucks in the Intermediate and Light Commercial Vehicle (ILCV) segment. The Ultra 812 and Ultra 912 are the two models that have been introduced. They are priced at Rs. 10.53 lakh and Rs. 10.94 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai) respectively.

The Ultra range comes in many variants with payload capacities ranging between 5 and 15 tonnes and body lengths of 14, 17 and 20 feet. It is available in four body colours - red, white, blue and yellow.

The Ultra range features a hydraulic 45 degree tiltable cabin equipped with suspended seats, dash-mounted gear lever, new instrument cluster, lockable glove box, mobile charging point, bottle holder and provision for HVAC unit.

Ultra trucks get features like tiltable and telescopic steering column, power steering, disc brakes, tubeless radial tyres and head and tail lamps with integrated LEDs.

Both the 812 and 912 are powered by a Tata 497 TCIC diesel engine that produces 125 PS @ 2400 rpm and 400 Nm of torque @ 1300-1500 rpm.
