According to media reports, the Tata Nexon is will be launched in September 2017. Tata Motors dealerships across India are reported to have started accepting bookings for the initial batch of Nexons that are expected to be delivered by late next month.

While Tata Motors has revealed that the Nexon will be launched next month, it has not mentioned a specific date for the same. Earlier this month, Tata launched a standalone website for the Nexon. The website displays the specifications of the Nexon and highlights some of its features.

The Nexon is Tata Motors' first compact SUV. It will be offered with a 1.2-litre, turbocharged petrol engine producing 108 BHP and 170 Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre diesel unit, which develops 108 BHP and 260 Nm of torque. Initially, the car will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox. However, media reports suggest that an AMT version has been planned for 2018.

The Tata Nexon will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport. It will come with features such as multiple drive modes, a touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking sensors and rear view camera among others.
