Tata cars to get complete keyless system from 2016

Tata Motors is likely to fit a complete keyless system on various cars in its range soon.

The "Passive Entry Passive Start" system, developed by German mechatronics component supplier Marquardt, will be found in Tata cars from the third quarter of 2016. It will be the first time that an Indian manufacturer will offer a complete keyless system on its cars. The system includes a key control unit, antenna, door sensor, electronic steering local and a start /stop button. The parts will be supplied from Marquardt's China plant. If the response is favourable, the company could set up a production facility in India. It is also setting up a research and development centre in Pune.

Marquardt manufactures intelligent driver authorisation systems and makes anti-theft security systems, which are used in cars from manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi and Chrysler.
