Suzuki Swift RS spotted in India

The Suzuki Swift RS has been spotted in India. The car was snapped while being transported on a flat-bed.

The Swift RS looks similar to the current generation Swift barring a few details. It gets slightly sportier bumpers, side skirts and red highlights on the front grille as well as larger wheels. The test mule is sporting different style alloy wheels and has disc brakes on both axles.

In India, Maruti Suzuki is rumoured to offer the Swift RS with a 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine from the Baleno RS. This turbocharged petrol engine produces 101 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and peak torque of 150 Nm @ 1,700-4,500 rpm. On the Baleno RS, this engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Swift RS is likely to be positioned below the Baleno RS and could rival the upcoming Tiago JTP. There is no word yet from Maruti regarding the launch of the Swift RS in India.
