Strange behaviour of my Tata Harrier: I had to disconnect its battery

All the indicators and OVRM lights were switching on & off. The OVRMs were also folding and unfolding. It was as if the SUV was locking and unlocking in a loop.

Hi,

Wanted to report a strange incident with my Harrier XZA+ which is 3 years old and has clocked around 38K till now. So far it has been happy riding for me except for small issues.

3 weeks ago, after parking my car after the usual city drives at around 8 pm in my garage, I had to step out by around 10 and then saw that all the indicators and OVRM lights were switching on & off. The OVRMs were also folding and unfolding. It was as if the car was locking and unlocking in a loop. There were no audio alarms. I thought it must be because I didn't put it in park mode properly and so I started the car and did it once again and even then it wouldn't stop. I tried opening and closing all doors and boot and even then it continued.

Luckily my SA answered the call and told me that since it was too late, to bring the car early morning to the service centre. He also advised me to unplug the battery to avoid draining the battery. I did so and in the morning I plugged the battery connection again before taking it to the service centre. The car behaved as normal then.

They kept the car for one full day there and said that they tried all options but couldn't find any issues. They said they checked all door sensors also, they said there were no logs in the computer system also. So they gave it back to me in the evening and I had to trust them and bring it back.

I had the same experience one more time although for a brief period and it stopped after I started and stopped the car again.

For 2 weeks now it has been incident-free and I thought of sharing it here in case any one of you had a similar experience to mine.

Do let me know your thoughts.
