Skoda mulling new modular platform under India 2.5 project

The VW Group is also planning to localise the MEB21G electric vehicle platform in India.

Skoda is exploring a new modular platform that could sit above the existing MQB A0 IN architecture that underpins the Kushaq and Slavia.

According to a media report, Skoda is likely to introduce the MQB A0 37 platform under the India 2.5 project. It will be modified for emerging markets like India and South America and localised to make it cost-effective.

Reports suggest that the MQB A0 37 architecture will allow Skoda to offer bigger vehicles with advanced electrical and electronic hardware. It will also support petrol-hybrid powertrains.

The VW Group is also planning to localise the MEB21G electric vehicle platform in India. The EV based on this architecture is expected to reach showrooms in 2026.
