Citroen Basalt to be unveiled in India on August 2

The Citroen Basalt will rival the upcoming Tata Curvv SUV coupe.

Citroen has announced that the India-spec Basalt Coupe SUV will be unveiled on August 2, 2024. It will be launched in the coming weeks and rival the upcoming Tata Curvv.

The Citroen Basalt shares its underpinnings with the C3 Aircross. It has a similar design featuring split headlamps with LED DRLs, wraparound taillights and square-ish wheel arches. The stylish coupe-like roofline makes it stand out.

The interior of the Basalt is also expected to be similar to the C3 Aircross. It is likely to get features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, wireless charging and more.

The Basalt will be offered with the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that powers the C3 Aircross. This engine makes 109 BHP and 205 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
