Sebastian Vettel wins the 2018 Belgian GP

Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) has won the 2018 Belgian Formula One Grand Prix ahead of championship rival and Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton. While Hamilton started the race from pole position, Vettel took over the lead on the first lap of the race at the Spa Circuit. Red Bull's Max Verstappen finished the race in third place.

At the beginning of the race, Nico Hulkenberg caused a crash, causing Fernando Alonso's McLaren to be pushed on top of Charles Leclerc's Sauber. Daniel Ricciardo's Red Bull made contact with Kimi Raikkonen's Ferrari after being squeezed by Toro Rosso's Pierre Gasly. All the drivers involved in the crashes eventually retired with the exception of Gasly, who finished in ninth position.

Valtteri Bottas in the second Mercedes came fourth after making his way up the order from seventeenth position on the starting grid. Racing Point Force India drivers Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon fished fifth and sixth respectively after swapping positions on the opening lap. They were followed by the two Haas cars of Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen. Marcus Ericsson in the Sauber finished in tenth position.

After the Belgian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton leads the drivers' championship by 17 points to Vettel. The next race will be held on September 2, 2018 in Monza, Italy.
