A test mule of the Skoda Kodiaq has been spotted testing on public roads in Pune, Maharashtra. The white-coloured SUV spotted in the images is running on test plates and hasn't been disguised under any camouflage.

The Kodiaq was globally unveiled in September 2016. It marks Skoda's entry into the full-size 7-seater SUV segment. It is based on the company's VisionS concept, which was showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, and is built on the MQB platform that also underpins the Superb and the Octavia sedans.

In the international markets, the Kodiaq is available in 7-seater as well as 5-seater layouts. It remains to be seen which of these options are brought to the India-spec model. The SUV also features the Skoda Connect infotainment system which comes with on-board WiFi and Google Earth, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity and 360-degree cameras.

The Kodiaq is globally offered with three engine options: 1.4 TSI, 2.0 TSI and 2.0 TDI, while transmission duties are handled by either a 6-speed manual or a DSG gearbox, depending on the engine options. Specifications of the India-bound model aren't known yet, though reports point towards the 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines being considered for the Indian market.
