2nd-gen Skoda Kodiaq India launch by mid-2025

Skoda's new compact SUV for India will go on sale before the next-gen Kodiaq.

The second-generation Skoda Kodiaq is likely to be launched in India by mid-2025. It will be brought via the CKD route.

Skoda India, Brand Director, Petr Janeba, has revealed that the company is developing new racks for the containers that will carry parts of the right-hand drive version of the Kodiaq. Since the car is completely new, new racks had to be designed, which is one of the reasons for the delay.

Janeba also pointed out that the new Kodiaq is only available in the left-hand drive markets. Therefore, the right-hand drive version for the Indian market would require testing. The CKD parts coming into the country must also be homologated as per the latest norms.

Road trials of the 2nd-gen Kodiaq have already commenced in India. The updated SUV is based on the MQB platform and is likely to be offered with the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as the outgoing version.
