Rumour: Yamaha R/World releases video teaser of upcoming R7

The video neither mentions any name, nor showcase a bike of any kind. However, the sound of a smooth-revving engine can be heard.

Yamaha Europe has released a new video, which is believed to be the first teaser for the brand's upcoming YZF-R7 sports bike.

The teaser video doesn't mention any name, nor does it showcase a motorcycle of any kind. However, towards the end of the teaser, the sound of a smooth-revving twin-cylinder engine can be heard. This exhaust note is said to be similar to that of the MT-07, whose engine could be used in the upcoming R7.

The Yamaha YZF-R7 has been rumoured to be in the works for a while now. The new middleweight motorcycle is said to be a replacement for the road-going R6, which was discontinued last year due to an update in emission regulations.

However, Yamaha is yet to officially confirm anything about the YZF-R7 at this point.
