Rumour: Toyota Corolla Altis facelift to launch on March 15

Recent media reports suggest that Toyota is gearing up to launch the Corolla Altis facelift in India on March 15, 2017. While the automaker hasn't yet officially announced a launch date, bookings for the car are reportedly open across the country.

The 2017 Corolla Altis will get some minor cosmetic tweaks. While the overall profile and silhouette of the car will remain unchanged, the front and rear ends will receive some alterations. These include sleeker headlamp assemblies, which will likely be all LED units, a new narrower grille and a tweaked bumper. At the rear, the car will get new LED tail lamps and a few changes to the bumper. On the inside, the 2017 Corolla Altis is expected to come with a revised dashboard layout and a larger infotainment system.

No mechanical changes are expected with the facelift. As a result, the Corolla will continue to be offered with two engine options - a 1.4-litre diesel and a 1.8-litre petrol. Previous reports have indicated that Toyota might also bring the Corolla Altis Hybrid to India, though its launch date is still unknown.
