Rumour: Royal Enfield 650 Twins bookings open

According to a media report, Royal Enfield dealers have started taking bookings for the upcoming 650 Twins - Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. The booking amount is set at Rs. 5,000. Both bikes are rumoured to be launched sometime next month and deliveries could commence by mid-December.

Earlier this year, Royal Enfield launched the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 in the US. The bikes share the same tubular double cradle frame. The Interceptor 650 is designed to be a street bike and features raised handle bars. The Continental GT 650 is a cafe racer style bike with clip-on handle bars. Both bikes feature a round headlamp and a twin-pod instrument cluster.

The 650 Twins share the same 648cc, parallel twin-cylinder, air-cooled engine which produces 47 BHP @ 7,100 rpm and 52 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a slip/assist clutch. They come equipped with 41 mm telescopic forks at the front and twin coil-over shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is handled by a 320 mm disc at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear. ABS is offered as standard.
