Rumour: Jeep to launch Compass Trailhawk in India in 2018

According to media reports, Jeep is planning to launch the Compass Trailhawk in India in 2018. The carmaker hasn't revealed the exact launch date though.

While the Trailhawk shares its body panels with the regular Compass, it gets a black grille and revised bumpers with exposed red tow hooks and underbody skid plates. The roof, along with the A and B-pillars, is painted in black. The SUV also gets dual-tone alloy wheels, black ORVMs and a black decal on the bonnet. 

On the inside, the Compass Trailhawk comes with all-weather floor mats. The suspension of the Trailhawk is 20 mm higher compared to the standard Compass and the car is also comes fitted with on/off road tyres.

In Australia, the Compass Trailhawk is offered with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. It has a Selec-Terrain 4WD system with 5 settings - Auto, Snow, Sand, Mud and Rock. It comes with a low range gearbox and hill decent control.

The Compass Trailhawk is built at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' (FCA) Ranjangaon facility and exported to right-hand drive markets such as Australia and Japan.
