Rumour: Honda WR-V to launch in India on March 16

As per recent media reports, Honda will probably be launching the WR-V compact crossover in India on March 16, 2017. The company hasn't yet revealed an official launch date for the vehicle.

The WR-V is basically a beefed up version of the Jazz hatchback. It gets a new front fascia with a larger grille, new headlamps and a revised bumper. Honda designers have given the car few design tweaks to add SUV-like characteristics. These design elements include black plastic cladding on the wheel arches and lower body panels, faux skid plates on the front and rear bumpers and prominent roof rails. The ground clearance of the WR-V is also expected to be higher than that of its hatchback sibling.

Images of the India-spec model were leaked last month after Honda started production of the WR-V in its plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan. The WR-V is expected to borrow its engine options from the Jazz, which include a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel.
