Rolls Royce Dawn imported in India, might launch soon

A single unit of the Rolls Royce Dawn convertible has been imported in India. This import indicates that Rolls Royce India might launch the Dawn Convertible here in the near future.

The RR Dawn was unveiled in September last year, and was marketed as the most affordable drop-top in the British automaker's lineup. The folding soft-top roof of the Rolls Royce Dawn can be operated in 22 seconds, even when the car is moving at speeds up to 50 kph. Moreover, designers have used French Seam stitching in the roof that helps reduce wind noise when the roof is in place.

Based on the RR Wraith Coupe and Ghost sedan, the Dawn convertible measures 5,285 mm in length, 1,947 mm in width, and 1,502 mm in height. It has a 3,112 mm long wheelbase, while the weight tips the scales at 2,560 kg.

Power comes from a 6.6-litre, twin-turbo, V12 petrol engine, that is tuned to develop 563 BHP and 780 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, and the company claims that the RR Dawn can do the 0 to 100 kph sprint in just 4.9 seconds, before hitting its electronically limited top speed of 250 kph.
