Range Rover’s fourth SUV could be based on the F-Pace

We recently reported that Range Rover is developing a new SUV to slot in between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport. While the new model remains unnamed, a recent report states that it will share its DNA with the upcoming Jaguar F-Pace, while offering a larger wheelbase and the option of 7 seats.

According to the report by Autocar UK, the prices of the new SUV could range from £40,000-£65,000 (INR 36.44 Lakh-59.22 Lakh approx), filling up the gap between the RR Sport and Evoque. Nicknamed the “Evoque Plus”, the new SUV could even spawn a fully electric variant, making it Range Rover’s first EV. The fully electric variant will most likely be placed as a rival to the long delayed Tesla Model X.

The report adds that the new model will be based on the same aluminium intensive architecture as the F-Pace and will be built on the same production line. Engine options are likely to include a series of four-cylinder Ingenium diesel and petrol engines, along with V6 mills for the higher variants. AWD could be offered as standard, depending on the market.
