Nissan's version of next-gen Duster to be more upmarket

Both brands will also offer 7-seater versions of their respective midsize SUVs.

The Renault Duster is all set to make its comeback in the Indian market. The next generation iteration of the Duster will go on sale in 2025. It will be followed by Nissan’s version of the midsize SUV.

While Nissan hasn’t revealed much about its version of the Duster, the latest reports have revealed new information about the model’s positioning. It is said that Nissan’s yet-unnamed midsize SUV will be more upmarket and will be positioned above the Renault Duster. It is likely to get more advanced features and could be offered in fewer variants.

Both SUVs will be based on a heavily localized CMF-B platform. The Duster is expected to get three engine options – a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.3-litre turbo petrol. Reports suggest that Nissan might offer turbo-petrols only.

Both brands will also offer 7-seater versions of their respective midsize SUVs. These are expected to be launched in India by 2026. Nissan might adopt a similar strategy when it comes to its market positioning.
