Next-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class sketch released

Mercedes-Benz has released a sketch of the all-new E-Class ahead of its debut at the Detroit motor show this month. The German automaker had revealed detailed information and images of the interiors of the car in December 2015. Like the interior images, the new sketch (signed by Mercedes-Benz exterior design director - Robert Lesnik) points to the car's obvious connection with the S-Class and C-Class.

As we have seen in several preceding spy shots, the car will feature a more curvy design than the outgoing model. The sedan will also feature larger dimensions, improved interior space, a lighter body and improved efficiency figures. The feature list will include touch sensitive steering mounted controls, ambient lighting with 64 colour options, the 2nd generation Burmester 3D surround sound system with 23 speakers (including four roof speakers) and multibeam LED headlamps with 84 individual LEDs in each headlamp.

Mercedes-Benz will launch the new E-Class in India shortly after the global debut. The car is likely to be offered as a direct import at launch, with CKD operations beginning soon after.
